If your approver/ manager is away, or is otherwise unavailable, you can quickly and easily arrange for your leave requests to be routed to an alternative member of staff who has the authority to approve holidays and time off.
As per the configuration the leave request is send to your manager, there are levels of approver. If any approver does not take any action on request in a certain amount of days (days would be specified as per company policy) it would get forwarded to the next level of approver(this would be mapped as per your company policy).
